HCMC - 17 February, 2009, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam launches the new Sprinter Panel Van – a cargo carrier in Sprinter family very successful in Europe to meet various demands of customers.
Dr. Udo Loersch – General Director of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam said: "The Sprinter continues to be the most popular choice in mini-bus segment with 1,140 units sold in 2008. This year, we would like to add the new Sprinter Panel Van at an affordable price to further satisfy the diversifying transportation demand of customers. I believed that this market segment has a substantial potential to grow.”
Targeted customers of the new Panel Van are cargo transporters, supermarkets, electronic appliance centres, hotels (outside catering), postal companies, hospitals (ambulances)… In this segment, customers need higher-quality vans with generous stowage, safety, high performance, fuel saving and a reasonable price that can go around the city 24/24, all of which are available in Sprinter Panel Van.
More than 8 cubic meters of space
The vehicle remains the traditional exterior of the Sprinter while the panel cargo compartment has the load capacity of more than 8m3. The stowage’s floor & side are wooden removably with high-quality cover to consolidate and protect the interior body work as well as the content.
With double-wing rear wall doors that can open 270 degrees, the loading and unloading of goods is easier than ever.
Advanced safety systems with ABS, ASR
The vehicle features a wide range of advanced equipment hardly found in commercial vehicle segment: Radio audio with CD/MP3 player, front air-conditioning… as well as latest safety technologies: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), airbag for driver and Acceleration Skid Regulation to ensure the highest safety level.
Efficient performance for higher profit
The state-of-the-art CDI diesel engine 2.2 litre gives a smooth and powerful performance as a petrol engine with maximum power of 109HP and excellent torque of 270Nm, while remains as economical as a diesel engine.

The 16-seat Sprinter now has the new paintwork colour – Black, which gives a more VIP image for hotels and resorts in transporting their guests.
In addition, customers can also opt for the man-made leather seats standard from Mercedes-Benz Vietnam factory.
With these new features, the Sprinter is expected to further enhance its leading position in the transportation service.
